“Do You Know What It Feels Like?”

Do you know what it feels like to wear the armor of complete strength & courage on the outside; but, die silently and slowly on the inside?

Do you know how it feels to wear the best smile ever seen; but, cry a river at heart?

Do you know what it feels like to dress in the best of clothes on the outside; but, have nothing to show for it on the inside?

Do you know what it feels like to be the best amongst the rest; but, no one ever notices anyway?

Do you know what it feels like to have it all; but never have enough to cater for yourself, let alone, someone else?

Do you know what it feels like to gain everything at once; only to lose it all in the blink of an eye?

Do you know what it feels like to appear happy on the outside; but, completely broken on the inside?

Do you know what it feels like to be the best friend someone always talks about; but, you have no one to call your true friend?

Do you know what it feels like to be the one everyone looks up to; but, have no one you look onto?

Do you know what it feels like to look the best everyday; but, feel the worst each passing day?

Do you know what it feels like to desire the best; but always get the worst?

Do you know what it feels like to keep everyone’s secrets; but, have no one to trust with yours?

Do you know what it feels like to be the one saving others; but, always find yourself drowned in the deep, all by yourself?

Do you know what it feels like to be that person that is trying so hard to hide their true pains and desires on the inside, but are envied regularly because, everyone feels they’ve got the greatest life?

If you think you do; try looking into the eyes of another, it’s where the truth lies. Every great person has some pain hidden beneath them that, only one who seeks their heart can see the reflection, through their eyes.

  1. Really felt most of the words directly. I thought of this years ago. I thought of the armor and thought of myself and just called it The machine. Turn on machine and forget all else.
